Roobuck Received TDRI 2024 Grant
in the “deployable telecommunications solutions” stream
The Telecommunications Disaster Resilience Innovation, TDRI program promotes the development of new technologies to provide solutions for telecommunications disaster resilience, particularly in our regional, remote and First Nations communities. It forms part of the Australian Government’s Better Connectivity Plan for Regional and Rural Australia.
In 2024, Roobuck with our project partner UNSW, received the TDRI in the innovative telecommunications solutions to improve the resiliency, redundancy and availability of telecommunications during and/or following a natural disaster stream.
The R&D project, multi-purpose LoRa-based meshed network for disaster resilient telecommunications, is over two years. We will create, test, and ultimately bring to market a versatile LoRa-based mesh network designed to enhance telecommunications resilience in the face of disasters. The team will deliver a low-cost LoRa based mesh communication infrastructure for local communities.
